Overwatch x Solo Leveling: 5 Unexpected Skins Arrive in Season 5

Overwatch x Solo Leveling - Shadow Monarch

Overwatch and Solo Leveling are about to meet in one of the game's most unexpected crossovers. The 5th season of Overwatch 2 brings an officially named collaboration, Overwatch x Shadow Monarch, transforming five of the game's heroes into iconic characters from the universe created by Chugong.

The result combines the visual identity of Blizzard's heroes with the Hunters and Shadow Soldiers from Solo Leveling, including Sung Jinwoo himself, Igris, and some of the anime's most powerful Hunters.

Overwatch x Shadow Monarch: The Solo Leveling Crossover

The Overwatch x Shadow Monarch collaboration arrives as part of the game's 5th season and features five Overwatch characters representing well-known figures from Solo Leveling. Among them is Genji, who takes on the appearance of protagonist Sung Jinwoo.

The choice is particularly fitting. Like Jinwoo, Genji relies on speed, mobility, and precise attacks, making this transformation one of the most anticipated aspects of the collaboration.

Solo Leveling Skins Coming to Overwatch

The crossover will feature five skins inspired by Solo Leveling. Each one was chosen to combine the personality, appearance, or combat style of an Overwatch hero with the character they represent.

Genji as Sung Jinwoo

The cybernetic ninja takes on the role of the protagonist of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo. The combination highlights Genji's speed and agility alongside the dark aesthetic of the future Shadow Monarch.

Reaper as Igris

The grim Reaper transforms into Igris, one of the most important and loyal soldiers in Jinwoo's Shadow Army. The choice fits perfectly with the hero's intimidating appearance and darker style.

Anran as Cha Hae-In

Anran takes on the appearance of Cha Hae-In, one of the most powerful Hunters in Solo Leveling. The character is known for her strength, agility, and serious demeanor, making this one of the collaboration's most interesting combinations.

Reinhardt as Iron

Reinhardt's massive armor takes on a new identity as Iron, one of the soldiers in the Shadow Army. The Overwatch tank's size and imposing presence make him a natural choice to represent the character.

Lifeweaver as Choi Jong-In

Finally, Lifeweaver takes on the role of Choi Jong-In, known as a powerful Mage Hunter specializing in fire-based attacks. The combination creates a different version of the Overwatch character, incorporating the aesthetic of one of Solo Leveling's most powerful magic users.

What Else Is Coming in Overwatch Season 5?

The crossover with Solo Leveling isn't the only new addition to the season. The 5th season of Overwatch 2 also introduces the new Support hero, Doctrine, along with the Grímsvötn map, designed for Escort mode.

The update also brings important changes to familiar characters. Sombra leaves the Damage role and moves into the Support role, while Roadhog receives changes to his abilities.

However, for anime fans, it is difficult to compete with the arrival of the Shadow Monarch. The presence of Sung Jinwoo, Igris, Cha Hae-In, Iron, and Choi Jong-In makes the new season another example of how Overwatch continues to explore collaborations with major franchises from pop culture.

One of Overwatch's Most Unexpected Crossovers

The partnership between Overwatch and Solo Leveling certainly stands out because of its unlikely combination. After all, these are two universes with very different visual styles, yet they manage to find common ground through their characters.

Genji as Sung Jinwoo may be the most obvious combination, but other choices such as Reaper as Igris and Reinhardt as Iron also show how Blizzard took advantage of the characteristics of its own heroes to adapt the characters from the anime.

Now it remains to be seen which of these five skins will become the community's favorite. What do you think about the Overwatch and Solo Leveling crossover? And which of these versions would you like to use in your matches?  Let us know in the comments!
