Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and to commemorate the occasion, Polaroid has prepared a special collection of instant cameras inspired by some of the franchise's most beloved elements. The collaboration includes models based on the Poké Ball, Pikachu, and Sylveon, along with themed films and accessories.
What if Pokémon Snap had a Polaroid camera?
Anyone who played Pokémon Snap probably spent hours looking for the perfect angle to photograph Pikachu, Charizard, Lapras, and many other Pokémon. Now, the partnership between Pokémon and Polaroid brings that idea into the real world for fans to enjoy.
Instead of exploring an island and photographing wild Pokémon, you can head out looking for the perfect shot with a themed instant camera. All that's missing is Professor Oak showing up to evaluate your photographs!
Polaroid Now Pokémon: a Poké Ball in your hands
The main model in the collection is based on the third-generation Polaroid Now. The camera features the traditional Poké Ball color scheme, combining red, white, and black. Even the shutter button has been customized to resemble the iconic item used by Pokémon Trainers.
The model costs US$ 139.99, equivalent to approximately R$ 727 in direct conversion.
Pikachu Camera
For fans of the franchise's most famous Pokémon, the collection also includes a version of the third-generation Polaroid Go inspired by Pikachu. The yellow body is accompanied by a strap inspired by the character's tail.
The model costs US$ 99.99, approximately R$ 519 in direct conversion.
Sylveon gets its own camera
The third camera in the collection also uses the third-generation Polaroid Go, but features a design inspired by Sylveon. The combination of white, pink, and blue is complemented by a strap based on the Fairy-type Pokémon's iconic ribbons.
Just like the Pikachu version, the Polaroid Go Sylveon costs US$ 99.99.
Pokémon films and accessories
The partnership goes beyond the cameras. Polaroid has also prepared instant films featuring special Pikachu and Sylveon frames, while the i-Type color films feature artwork of characters such as Togepi, Mew, and Snorlax.
The collection also includes accessories such as a Poké Ball-shaped case, a themed album, and a strap compatible with the collection's camera models.
